Mrs. Anna Carol Fogle

Anna Carol Howard Fogle, 91, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, at The Retreat, in Mobile, AL. Born on August 24, 1932, in Waverly, WV, Carol spent her early years on the banks of the Ohio River before eventually settling in Alabama, where she became a cherished member of her community. Carol attended Williamstown High School where she was a member of the senior girl's basketball team. She was well-loved by her classmates for her warm spirit and nurturing nature. Carol married Freddie Richard Fogle on June 6, 1953 and became a devoted homemaker, raising four children, for more than fifty years. A longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Pelham, AL, Carol was a staple in the choir, where she developed many lifelong friendships. One of Carol’s greatest joys was traveling across the United States with Dick, who preceded her in death. Together, they explored numerous destinations in their Blue Bird motorhome, and for a number of years, shared their love for the open road by hosting many fellow travelers at their award winning KOA Campground in Pelham, AL. In her final years in Fairhope, Carol was lucky enough to share the companionship of Ken Barber, with whom she enjoyed spending time watching the sunset over Mobile Bay and attending lively activities at the Fairhope Nix Center. Carol is survived by her brother, Sid Howard, sister-in-law Judy Howard, sister-in-law Martha Howard, her loving children, Mike Fogle, Tammy Nabors, and Ed Fogle (Yonna). She was a proud grandmother to Melody Sanchez, Amy Alford (Kirk), Maegan Rice (Drew), Anna Ellis (Ryan), Alex Fogle (Elizabeth), Zoie Ulmer (Cam), Zach Fogle, and Madison Fogle. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Jada and Bebe Hope, Alexa and Grayson Alford, Kenneth and Andrew Rice, Nash and Wells Ellis, Hudson Fogle, and Emma Rose Ulmer. Carol was preceded in death by her brothers Dick and Warden Howard, her son Mark Fogle, and grandsons Dustin and Christopher Osborn. Her life was a testament to the power of love and family, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories, delicious cooking, and enduring affection. Carol's presence and hospitality will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on through the lives of those she touched.
