Mrs. Carroll Howell Culpepper

Carroll was born September 25, 1959, to Burtis and Patricia Howell. She passed on February 26, 2025. Though she was an only child, she spent her childhood with plenty of cousins. She graduated from Mary G Montgomery high school in 1977 and started her first job at Prestige. On April 18, 1979, she married Robert (Bobby) Culpepper after meeting him on a blind double date arranged by her cousin Donna. They married 3 weeks later using Donna’s wedding ring! Bobby and Carroll had two daughters, Brandy and Heather. Carroll was a stay at home mom until she became a substitute teacher at Wilmer Elementary in 1987. She then became a PE teacher at Wilmer where she touched the lives of thousands of children and then moved to special education. Carroll moved to O’Rourke Elementary in 2003 where she worked until she received her cancer diagnosis. Her most recent role was paraprofessional with her work daughter, Rachel Davis whom she adored. Carroll’s family was her main focus in life. She spent hours working on Halloween costumes, making dresses, and providing all the magic that made her girls life’s amazing. She loved to bake and cook. She sold cakes and brownies that she made at her at home bakery for years. More than she loved her family, Carroll’s love for Jesus was immeasurable. She played piano for years at Georgetown Assembly and worked with the Missionettes program. She started the puppet ministry at Millertown Pentecostal and spent most of her free time organizing Missionettes there. She was as proud of her son in law, Todd, as she was her own kids telling everyone at the hospital how well he took care of her. She loved to travel and had big plans for retirement. Though cancer changed that, she was still able to spend as much time as she could with her grandchildren. Carroll has touched so many lives and is in the memories of so many students and coworkers from either Wilmer or O’Rourke. Carroll is survived by her mom, Patricia Carroll Howell. Her husband, Robert Culpepper. Her daughters, Brandy (Ronald) Price and Heather (Todd) Partin. Her grandchildren Karissa Ford, Austin Culpepper, Gavin Partin, Austin (Naylee) Partin, Jason Price, and Nathan Shell. She has joined her dad, Burtis Howell in Heaven as well as her grandparents Willie and Lois Carroll and Elbert and Anna Howell. There will be a service at Parkway Church (4270 Industrial Pkwy, Eight Mile, AL 36613) on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 12 pm. Per Carroll’s request there will not be a graveside service. She will be laid to rest at Allentown Memorial next to her dad. Thank you to the nurses at Mobile Infirmary Cancer care and Gentiva hospice.
