Mrs. Cheryl Jean Barnett

With heavy hearts, the family of Cheryl Jean Laskey Barnett announces her passing on March 19, 2025, at the age of 67. Cheryl peacefully passed away at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. Born on February 21, 1958, in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, Cheryl was the daughter of Emesey John Laskey Jr. and Alice Elizabeth Leonard Laskey. She grew up surrounded by a loving family and shared a special bond with her siblings, Deborah (Richard) Wishart, Dirk (Linda) Laskey, Gene (Mary) Laskey, and Glenda Vogtner. Cheryl took great pride in being the mother of her two sons, Charles Lewis and Mark Lewis. Cheryl loved racing and attended when she could. Her favorite time at the racetrack was attending the 50th annual snowball derby at Five Flag Speedway. When Cheryl was at home, she enjoyed relaxing, playing games, and taking care of her flowers. Cheryl enjoyed the road trips she took to see Debbie (Richard) Wishart and family, Lea (Josh) Matheson and family, Teresa (Guy) and family, and many many more. She is survived by her beloved sons, Charles Lewis and Mark Lewis; her siblings, Deborah(Richard) Wishart, Dirk Laskey, Gene(Mary) Laskey, and Glenda Vogtner; her Aunt Teresa Race (Guy),her niece Lea (Josh) Matheson, her nephew Joseph (Stephanie) Laskey, niece Tabitha Wishart, niece Jackie Wishart, nephew Laverne Walker, Nephew Clinton Walker, many more nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, her cousin Sherry Payne and so many more cousins, as well as special family friends Debe Haidt, Dianna (Perry) McDaniel, Ashley Bruhl, Corrine DeBlase, and Zachary (Sarah) Raney Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, James Barnett; her father, Emesey John Laskey Jr.; her mother, Alice Elizabeth Leonard Laskey; her grandfather, Emesey John Laskey Sr.; her grandmother, Teresa Murphy; her grandfather, Joseph Leonard; her grandmother, Eva Bernsteil, her sister-in-law Linda Laskey and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A funeral service will be held on March 24, 2025, at Cottage Hill Memorial Funeral Home. Family will be received from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by visitation for family and friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. With a Funeral service following visitation. Cheryl was a loving mother, sister, and friend to many. Her warm spirit, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing to those she leaves behind.
