Mr. Dylan Jacob Moorer

Dylan Jacob Moorer, native of Creola, Al, passed away on December 14, 2023, in an automobile accident at the age of 23 yrs. He was born in Mobile, Al on October 9, 2000, to Franklin D. Moorer III and Candida Crain. The middle child of five children, Dylan, even as a small boy, was full of energy, generosity, strong willed determination, and a tenacious drive to succeed. He was born with several medical conditions that left him fighting for his life for the first couple weeks, and for 18 months after he fought off digestive issues that left him at serious risk of malnourishment and illness. Miracle after miracle gave us more time with him as he was healed, and he remained a fighter for the rest of his life. He was high spirited and loved deeply. Full of character and life. Dylan became a hard worker and loved to spend time with “the guys”. Those traits stayed with him as he grew into a young man. He loved animals, fishing, football. Dylan had a kind spirit, and family and friends were his focal point throughout his lifetime. Dylan was a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide fan, and recently thru his shoulder out while cheering during the SEC Championship win. He was incredibly excited and looking forward to the National Championship game. We will be watching with him in our hearts. Dylan was a light as bright as the sun no matter the day or the hour. His mere presence would make you smile and laugh. One hug or laugh from him could heal your heart and spirit, on even the worst of days. To say he was greatly loved by many, would be a gross understatement, for the silence of his absence will forever echo like a roaring thunder through all our hearts. We will, each of us, cherish every second that we were fortunate enough to be blessed with. Dylan did not have to depart from us before we realized how special he was, we had him continually on our minds and in our hearts. Every single time he was away we looked forward to his return. He was in every thought, in every heartbeat and in every prayer. We loved him beyond measure, always. Dylan was a son, a grandchild, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, an uncle, and a friend. He mastered each of those categories, filling us with love, always making us feel as if we were special, and leaving our hearts swollen in pride just to have known him. He held an uncompromising loyalty and unfailing love for his family and friends. In his midnight hours, he held on to that love for us, and sought Jesus to find his way back to the light. He spent his final days and hours making plans for the future, with his family and friends. Even though we know that the world will never be the same without him, and that space in our hearts that belonged to him, will never be filled again. He left us with countless fond memories, and the knowledge that he had found salvation, and now rest in the arms of the Lord. We will see you again one day my precious son, I love you always. Dylan was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Myra Joan Moorer; grandfather, Ronald Dean Crain; an niece Serenity Claire Mendoza; aunt Tracy Norris Dunn; and cousins Courtney Alexis Moorer and Joshua Brandon Dunn. He is survived by his parents, Franklin D Moorer III and Candida Crain Reid (J.R); grandfather, Franklin D Moorer Jr. ( Donna); brothers, Austin Moorer (Grace), Randall Trey Dixon(Haley), Jeff Allen Martin (Becca), and Ayden Edward Williams (Amber); sisters , Shelby Moorer Mendoza, Kelsy Rae Reid, and Briley Joan Moorer; nephews, Kayden Hunter Moorer, Chesten Dean Russell, Franklin Timothy Russell, Lucas Anderson Harris, Lincoln Alexander Martin, and Brantley Knox Dixon; nieces Adyson Leigh Dixon, Masyn Grace Dixon. As well as many other cousins, family and friends that we wish we could include because Dylan loved you all.
