Mr. Edward Glover

Edward Glover, age 80, of Selma, Alabama, entered into eternal rest on May 27, 2025, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama. Born on December 18, 1944, in Clayton, Alabama, Edward was the youngest son of JC Glover and Daisy Morrison Glover. A proud and decorated veteran, Edward served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1974, attaining the rank of Sergeant. During his two tours in Vietnam, he faced some of the harshest conditions of jungle warfare and hand-to-hand combat with unmatched courage and resilience. For his bravery and extraordinary service, he was awarded numerous military honors, including the Purple Heart and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, recognition of his deeds of valor and heroic conduct while in combat. After his military service, Edward channeled his determination and passion into successful ventures in the automotive, real estate, and restaurant industries. He was a sharp businessman, but his greatest pride and joy was always his family. In 1964, Edward married the love of his life, Sandra Whiting Glover. Over the next 60 years, their marriage was a testament to unwavering love and partnership. In 1972, they were blessed with their daughter, Kami Jean (Glover) Culbert. Edward was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, known for his vivid storytelling, joyful rides around his properties, and deep love for his grandchildren. Edward was a man of immense generosity and kindness. His presence left a mark on all who knew him, and he will be remembered for the life he lived and the lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his parents, JC and Daisy Glover, and his brother, James Glover. He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: his wife, Sandra Whiting Glover; daughter, Kami Culbert (Sean); granddaughter, Kelci Brandt (Andrew); grandson, Logan Culbert; brothers, Johnny Glover (Bettyann) and Allen Glover (Edna); sister-in-law, Iris Glover (James); and a host of extended family, friends, and community members. A celebration of Edward’s life will be held at Friendship Baptist Church in Grand Bay, Alabama, on June 2, 2025. The viewing will begin at 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. In honoring his life, we remember a man of honor, courage, and heart—a hero in every sense of the word.
