In loving memory of Ivo Ban Ivo Ban, born on February 2, 1951, in Croatia, touched the lives of many during his time on this earth. He peacefully departed from us on January 20, 2024, in Mobile, AL, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished. Ivo was born to loving parents, Mara and Drago Ban, who instilled in him the values of love, compassion, and hard work. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Aleksandra Ban, as well as his parents, Mara and Drago Ban, and his sister, Jelena Petrovic. These losses undoubtedly left a void in his heart, but he faced these trials with unwavering strength and resilience. Ivo's memory will be forever held dear by his adoring family, including his loving wife, Ljuba Ban, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage since December 1974. Their love stood as a shining example for all, and their bond was unbreakable. Ivo was a devoted father to his children, Mario Ban and Boris Ban. He was a pillar of support and encouragement in their lives, always providing guidance and love. His grandchildren, Stella Ban, Yannick, Charleigh Batson, and Ariel Batson brought him immense joy and happiness. Their laughter filled his heart, and their presence brightened his days. During his years of service in the Navy, Ivo served as a Navy Diver, committing himself to protecting and serving his country. His unwavering dedication and bravery earned him respect and admiration from all who knew him. After his military service, Ivo continued his commitment to making a difference in his community by joining the police force, where he served with honor and integrity. Alongside his career as a police officer, Ivo also pursued his passion for Judo, coaching and mentoring countless individuals, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. Beyond his professional achievements, Ivo had a deep love for sports. He was an avid fan of Alabama football and the Saints football team. Friends and family are invited to join to honor Ivo's life at the Holy Family Church, located at 1400 Joyce Road, Mobile, AL, USA. The funeral service will be held on January 29, 2024, at 1:00 PM. We will gather to remember the beautiful soul that Ivo was, to celebrate the memories we shared, and to find solace in the love and support we find in one another. Ivo Ban will forever be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a cherished grandfather, and a loyal friend. His memory will live on in our hearts, and his spirit will continue to guide us as we navigate life's journey. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Visitation will be on Monday, January 29th, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM and services will begin at 1:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church - 1400 Joyce Rd., Mobile , AL 36618
