Mrs. Karen Michelle Buza

Karen Michelle Buza passed away on March 16, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama. Born on April 21, 1971, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Karen lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to family and service. She was the sweetest person. All who knew her witnessed that. A graduate of Vancleave High School in 1989, Karen pursued a career dedicated to caring for others. She held various positions throughout her life but found her calling as a caregiver. After graduating with honors from Blue Cliff College, she earned a degree as a medical assistant and most recently worked at USA Medical Diagnostic Center. Karen’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She grew up attending First Baptist Church in Vancleave before settling at Grand Bay Community Church in Grand Bay, Alabama. There, she actively participated in the Saturate program as a servant, demonstrating her deep commitment to her beliefs and community. On February 11, 1995, Karen married her best friend and lifelong companion, of 30 years Joseph "Joey" S. Buza. Together they built a loving family that brought her immense joy. She is survived by her husband Joey; her mother Debra Jan Tootle King; her sons and daughter in law Alex S. (Kristen) Buza, Joel A. Buza, and Caleb J. Buza; her siblings Shana S. (Russell) Lane; half-sister Jodi Fountain; half-brother J.E. Fountain; and her cherished granddaughter Amelia A. Buza. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close. Karen was preceded in death by her father Jody E. Fountain; her loving stepfather Jerry L. King; maternal grandparents Bilbo and Maudree Tootle; and paternal grandparents Joseph and Gladys Fountain. Karen found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—spending time at the beach, watching cooking shows, and playing worship music while cooking and cleaning. Family gatherings and cookouts were among her favorite moments, as she treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by loved ones. Her sons were the light of her life, and her world, but it was the arrival of her granddaughter Amelia that truly blessed her heart. Karen’s warm spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless love touched everyone who knew her. Her kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to share in her life’s journey. A memorial service will be held on March 23, 2025, at Grand Bay Community Church in Grand Bay, Alabama (12575 Highway 90 W), beginning at 2:00 PM and concluding at 3:00PM. A meal will be provided for the family and guests following the service May Karen’s memory bring comfort to all who loved her and serve as a reminder of the power of faith and love in our lives.
