Mr. Michael Paul Lomas

Michael Paul Lomas January 25, 1978 – March 21, 2023 Michael Paul Lomas was a beloved son, a proud father and a great friend. He will be remembered for being loving and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was known for his goofy, sarcastic personality and his ability to make everyone laugh. He would flash his crooked smile and a raised eyebrow at you and let you know he’d “always be prettier than you.” At every party, all eyes would be on him as he showed off his killer dance moves. The only one who could come close to rivaling him was his son, Dylan. He loved Alabama Football, NASCAR, golf and the Philadelphia Eagles; and you could always catch him watching, playing or talking about his favorite sports. Both of his sons remember him as the kind of father who made sure they respected their mother, but he was also the first one to talk her into a lesser punishment when they were in trouble. He loved to play around with his sons, but when they did talk back, Dylan says his dad was famous for saying, “I brought you into this world. I can take you out of it and make another one just like you.” He was also there for the hard times. Derek reflects on his dad comforting him and being a shoulder to lean on when he was upset or having a hard time as a kid. Michael passed away on March 21, 2023, at age 45. He was surrounded by love from his family in his final days. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Catherine Lomas, and his uncle, Bob Lomas. He is survived by his sons, Dylan Lomas (Nicole) and Derek Lomas (Kenzlea); his mother, Jodi Houk (Joe) and his father, Michael Lomas; his sister Jessica Everhart (Ryan); his grandchildren Liam Lomas, Mylee Lomas and Jonathan Parker; his stepsisters Kristin Hardin (Jake), Kelly Houk (Thomas) and Lindsay Hughes; his uncles and aunts, Paul and Pam Obriant, Ray Lomas, Hugh Lomas, Kevin Lomas, Danny Lomas, Brian Lomas, Eddie Lomas, Tina Disher and Patricia Mancini; and his cousins Kenneth Obriant and Kari Vincent. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Cottage Hill Memorial Funeral Home with visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. and the service starting at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow.
