Mrs. Mollie Josephine Hall Elliott

Mollie Josephine Hall Elliott, passed away August 22, 2022 at her home. Born in rural Ohio on March 13, 1934, she had been a resident of Mobile since the late 1950s. She was 88. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean Hall and Nellie Bebout Hall, son, James Elliott, grandson, Kenneth Elliott Hagler, sister, Jean Hall Hamman, and brother, Jack Hall. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Robert Elliott, along with her children, Cynthia Hagler (Keith), son, William Elliott (Jill) and brother, Robert Hall; four grandchildren, Dr. Heather Signorelli (Troy), Holly Mack (Gardiner), Dallas Hagler (Amy), Tiffany Richardson (Will); ten great grandchildren, Austin Signorelli, Leah Signorelli, Dean Gardiner, Maggie Gardiner, Kate Gardiner, Elliott Hagler, Callaway Hagler, Campbell Hagler, Tucker Richardson, Ellie Richardson, and many nephews, nieces and other relatives. Mollie was a tiny, fierce force. Kind and generous, she loved her family more than anything. Even after what were the immeasurable losses of her son and grandson, she was still an astoundingly positive person. She saw good in everyone. She was raised on a farm in Ohio milking cows, but still was known for her elegance, style and taste, which served her well in her years in the Better Handbags Department of Gayfers Department Store. She loved the following, in no particular order: Cooking sugar cookies, finding just the right gifts for people (Christmas will never be the same), wine with ice, shoes, handbags, Talbots, David Yurman, weekly appointments at Jeff's, the Grand Hotel, Vail and Carmel. Nicknamed “Mollie Roker” because of her propensity to follow the weather, she knew the weather everywhere someone she loved was. On any given day she could tell you the weather in Ohio, Denver, Los Angeles or anywhere someone was traveling. Most of all, she loved her family. But nothing compared to her love for Bob, her love since Shiloh High School. They wrote each other love notes on Post-Its, and if you were somewhere where a piano player was, they would get up and dance when no one else would. They were truly soulmates and a love for the ages. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from the chapel of Cottage Hill Memorial Funeral Home, 7158 Cottage Hill Rd. Mobile, AL 36695. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m., until service time at the funeral home.
