Mr Paul Bryan Caldwell

Paul Bryan Caldwell, born February 27, 1966, in Mobile, Alabama, passed away at his home in Semmes, Alabama, on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the age of 59. Paul was the son of Barbara Stewart Whitney and Charles Caldwell. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Charles Caldwell; his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Beatrice Browder; his paternal grandparents, Paul and Helen Caldwell; and his very beloved uncle, Edgar Caldwell. Paul is survived by his son, Justin Caldwell; his mother, Barbara Stewart Whitney (Jim); his sisters, Laura Caldwell and Charlotte Wintz (Tim); his brother, Jason Caldwell (Donna); his stepmother, Sylvia Caldwell; his granddaughter, Callie Ann Caldwell; and his extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his childhood “partner in crime,” Bobby Caldwell. Paul leaves behind a legacy of love, tenderness, kindness, and his deep love for music. Paul was an extremely talented musician who sang and played the keyboard. He toured casinos with the 1960s band, The Fortunes, and later worked aboard a cruise ship as a dueling pianist. He continued making music wherever life took him and brought others into it along the way. He included his brother Jason in that life, sharing music across the world on Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Whether traveling to play in other countries, at bars on the Gulf Coast, or simply hanging out at home, music shaped his life in many ways, and his gifts have impacted the lives of so many. Paul’s life was also marked by resilience. From a serious accident in childhood, to a battle with cancer that once carried a difficult prognosis, he endured challenges that would have broken many. He was a creator, a discoverer, and always a “wonder what would happen if…” kind of soul. Curiosity lived at the center of who he was. Paul was known for being a good friend to all — even the four-legged and furry variety — including his beloved companions, Bella, Wagglebutt, and Bossy. Paul will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
