Mr. Richard Keith Peckham

Richard “Ricky” Keith Peckham, 64, passed away on August 4th, 2023 at his family home in Mobile, AL. He was born on October 29,1958 to Maynard and Loretta Peckham in Mobile, AL. Ricky met his beloved wife Patricia “Patty”, when his sister brought her to their family home for shelter during hurricane Frederic. It was love at first sight and they were married a few months later on June 7th,1980 in Mobile, AL, and were blessed with 6 devoted children. Ricky graduated from Robertsdale High School in 1977 and began his professional journey as a trusted mechanic. Ricky's professional life was defined by dedication and skill. He devoted an impressive 43 years to a career as a mechanic at Alabama State Docks. Ricky's diligent work ethic and expert craftsmanship left an indelible mark on the industry and the lives he touched. Ricky was affectionately known as “Poppy” to his 9 beloved grandchildren. He lived his 64 years of life to the absolute fullest. Whether it was watching the big Alabama game on Saturday nights, woodworking, or spending time with his grandchildren, Ricky always carried a smile and a positive attitude. He was known for his ability to fix and create anything and was readily available for any projects no matter how big or small. He was an active member of Woodridge Baptist Church, where he will be greatly missed. Ricky will always be remembered for his love of family, infectious laugh, homemade waffles, special “Poppy” hugs, and most of all his love for Jesus Christ. He leaves behind his wife Patricia “Patty” Peckham, his children Robert “Robby” (Terra) Peckham, Ryan (Brittany) Peckham, Amanda (Brandon) Ezell, Melinda (Michael) Lambeth, Samantha (Samuel) Hurst, Riley (Carley) Peckham, his 9 grandchildren, his mother Loretta Peckham, sister Charlene (Barry) Ryan, and brother Donald “Donnie” (Jennifer) Peckham. He is preceded in death by his father Maynard Keith Peckham (Deceased October, 2017). Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Woodridge Baptist Church with visitation starting at 3:00pm. Ricky’s greatest joy in life was his family, and in light of his oldest son's battle with cancer, memorial donations may be made to The Mitchell Cancer Institute (designation Mitchell Cancer Institute Fund for Excellence) in lieu of flowers.
