Mr. Samuel O'Neal Barbour

Samuel “Sammy” O’Neal Sr. and Janet “Jan” Elizabeth Lambert Barbour Samuel “Sammy” O’Neal Barbour Sr., age 70, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2021 surrounded in love by his family. Sammy was born on August 29, 1950 in Bayou La Batre, Alabama and was a resident of Mobile, Alabama. Janet “Jan” Elizabeth Lambert Barbour, age 72, went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 24, 2021 surrounded in love by her family. Jan was born on December 11, 1948 in Mobile, Alabama and was a resident of Mobile, Alabama. Sammy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years Janet Elizabeth Lambert Barbour, his wife of 15 years Sheryl Marie Bradley Barbour, his beloved mother Kathleen Priscilla Seaman Barbour, and his devoted brother Eddie Ray Barbour Sr. Sammy is survived by his father Edward Alex Barbour and his sister Dr. Tina Barbour-Taylor (Steven), nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Jan was preceded in death by her loving mother Erla Ingram Best Lambert and her devoted father Ray Devaul Lambert. Jan is survived by her two brothers Raymond Devaul Lambert (Robin) and Donald Lamar Lambert (Meri), nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. They were the proud parents to Samuel “Bo” Barbour Jr. (Sherry), Alex Matthew Barbour, Simeon Aaron Barbour (Carlie), and Jed Ian Barbour (Charlotte). They were loving grandparents to their grandchildren J.W. O’Neal “Neal” Barbour (Nicole), Gavin Edward Barbour, Madelyn Marie Barbour, Samuel Aaron Barbour, Lincoln O’Neal Barbour, and Emmett Charles Barbour. Sammy graduated Peter F. Alba High School. He spent his early career fishing and shrimping with his grandfather and father. Later he pursued his trade as a Master Carpenter at various shipyards around the gulf coast area. He loved repairing/operating boats and woodworking. Jan graduated Murphy High School and then went to Mobile College where she received her degree in nursing. She was a registered nurse for over 40 years practicing in the Mobile area and traveling throughout the United States. She was passionate about nursing and taking care of others. Sammy enjoyed working in his shop and watching football, whilst Jan enjoyed reading and gardening. Most of all, they both cherished spending time with their family, friends, and dogs Doodle, Gus, and Bones. They enjoyed telling stories, laughing, and giving their heartfelt love to everyone. A memorial service will be held at Cottage Hill Memorial Funeral Home on March 23, 2021 at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Bayou La Batre, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Bo Barbour, Alex Barbour, Simeon Barbour, Jed Barbour, Neal Barbour, and Gavin Barbour. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Barbour, Darvin Barbour, Steven Taylor, and Joshua Taylor.
