Ms. Theressa "Tink" Diane Booker

Luke 23:24 And he said to him “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise” And then there were four…Pat, Linda, Bud and Stephanie announce the heartbreaking news of the loss of their sister Theressa “Tink” Booker on September 22, 2024. Theressa Diane Walker was born on January 27, 1950 to Charles “Buddy” Walker and Mary Elizabeth Walker, their third daughter. As the only redhead and the only vegetarian from birth, they knew that Tink, or TinkerBelle as our grandfather Papa Walker called her, was one of a kind with a mind of her own. She loved fiercely and fought fiercely and her siblings, including a brother and sister born after her, can attest to that by their many battle scars. Tink, along with her siblings, grew up in Pell City, Alabama, San Jose, California, and Mobile, Alabama where the family finally settled for many happy years and where Tink met the love of her life, Eddie Booker. She and Eddie were married in a double wedding with Tink’s brother Bud and his bride Linda Gail on May 19, 1973, bringing Tink and her sisters yet another precious sister to love in Linda Gail. This joyous occasion that they shared further fortified the brother sister bond and the four of them spent many fun times together. Eddie brought two children to their marriage that Tink doted on, Eddie Booker Jr and Keith Booker. Tink and Eddie also had a son, Sean, whom she adored. Sadly, after 36 wonderful years together, Eddie was called home early on September 12, 2009 leaving Tink to live the rest of her years alone yet surrounded by her loving siblings, nieces and nephews and many others that loved her like family. Tink was our most outgoing sibling, she never met a stranger. Her philosophy was that strangers were just family that she had not yet met. This was quite evident in all of the people she “adopted” over the years as her family. In her last couple of years her newest family members were her caregivers at the nursing home. It was clearly evident how much they loved her as we watched them come in before her passing to say goodbye to “MawMaw” or “Mama” as they called her. Our family thanks you for loving her like family. Tink was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons and two brothers in law. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her siblings who loved her just as fiercely as she loved them; Pat and Richard Gorlott and Charles “Bud” and Linda Walker of Mobile, Linda Shows of Mendenhall, MS and Stephanie and Roland Cortes of Panama City, FL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and loved them all tremendously, especially her niece Aimee Cortes Blaise, with whom she had a special bond. She considered herself Aimee’s second mama and Aimee loved her like she was her mama. The family would like to thank her hospice nurse Heather from Southern Care Hospice for loving her so much and the staff at Gulf Coast Nursing and Rehab, she spoke lovingly about you all. Also a huge thanks to her sweet best friend Shirley that visited Tink faithfully, she loved you and cherished your friendship. The out of town siblings Linda and Stephanie would like to also give special thanks to the family that lived in town that visited and took snacks and cokes to her and handled all of the day to day details: Bud and Linda Gail, Pat and Richard and her nieces Aimee (Blaise), Trecey, and Katy (Lee). Also her great niece Kelsey (Jared) and great, great nephew Liam who were her Cracker Barrel connection. You all made her days easier with your kindness and love. Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” May we all love each other as completely and fiercely as Tink loved everyone.
