Tonya Regina Moseley Jones October 23, 1958 – September 10, 2026 Tonya Regina Moseley Jones, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Springhill Medical Center at the age of 67. Tonya was born on October 23, 1958, in Mobile, Alabama, to Massey Liklen Moseley Jr. and Mary Josephine Gilmore Moseley. She attended B.C. Rain High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1976. Tonya was a loving mother, devoted wife, cherished grandmother, sister and friend. She shared 50 years of marriage with her husband, James Richard Jones, building a life centered around family, love, and devotion. Creative and artistic throughout her life, Tonya was a photographer and painter whose work included still lifes, landscapes, and renderings of the human form. She also devoted many years to updating an online burial database, helping families and individuals search for the burial places and final resting places of their loved ones. It was a quiet but meaningful contribution that reflected Tonya’s thoughtful nature and her desire to help others. Those who knew Tonya will remember her for her wonderful sense of humor, her consideration for others, her creativity, and the love she had for her family. Tonya was preceded in death by her parents, Massey Liklen Moseley Jr. and Mary Josephine Gilmore Moseley; her brothers, James Paul Pugh (Sheila), and Charles Michael Moseley (Peggy) and her sister, Rosemary Moseley Dunnam (Billie). She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, James Richard Jones; her children, Taryn Jones, Jillian Olivares Padilla (Juan), Jameson Jones, and Angelina Jones; her grandchildren, Ian Ezell, Aaliyah Olivares Jones, and Fallon Saxon; her brothers, Ernest Huggins (Bradwyn), and Massey Liklen Moseley III; as well as extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Tonya leaves behind a legacy found not only in the art she created and the lives she touched, but most importantly in the family she loved so deeply. Her humor, creativity, kindness, and devotion to those she loved will remain in their hearts and memories for years to come. Services honoring Tonya’s life will be held at Cottage Hill Memorial Funeral Home in Mobile, Alabama. The date and time of the service will be a visitation Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 11am to 12pm and a Memorial Service at 12pm.
