Mr. Francis Eugene Hodges Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Francis Eugene Hodges, Sr., a lifelong resident of Mobile, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 26, 2021. He was 84 years old. Francis was born to Agnes Cooper Hodges and Bryan Taylor Hodges, Sr. in Mobile, Alabama on December 19, 1936. He grew up in Toulminville and graduated from Murphy High School in 1954. In 1962, Francis met and married a Toulminville girl, Ann Mc Ferrin, and they were married for almost 59 years. Francis worked in the railroad business for over 35 years and retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1991. He was a member of Congregation Tree of Life. Francis is survived by his wife, Ann McFerrin Hodges; children, Francis “Dink” Hodges, Jr. (Lori) of League City, Texas, Delanie Arrieta (Edgar) of Mobile, Lloyd Hodges (Marilyn) of Mobile, Angela Hearn of Mobile, and Daun D’Aversa (Johnny) of Orange Beach; sister, Helena Keyser Craig of Foley; grandchildren, Kevin Hodges, Karen Hodges, Nathan Hodges, Bryan Hodges, Adair Hodges, Gabriel Arrieta (Tabitha), Beau Arrieta, Caleb Hodges, Teagan Hodges, Ashleigh Hodges, David Hodges, Robin Hearn, Elizabeth D’Aversa, and John D’Aversa; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Norman Danne Hodges; granddaughter, Stephanie Hodges; brothers Bryan Taylor Hodges, Jr., and Lloyd Walton Hodges; and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Bryan T. Hodges, Sr. A graveside service will be held at the Toulmin Family plot at Spring Hill Graveyard on Dilston Street on Friday, October 1 at 2:00 PM. A memorial service will be held immediately following at Congregation Tree of Life, on Jeff Hamilton Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Congregation Tree of Life.
