Mr. Glenn Yuk Kong Wong Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Glenn Y.K. Wong, age 67, passed away at his home in Mobile, Alabama, on October 11, 2021, after a short battle with cancer. Glenn was born on July 22, 1954 in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. He loved his family more than anything in the world. He is survived by his parents Herman and Beatrice Wong, wife Lesa G. Douglas-Wong, siblings Gary Wong, Deanna Wong, Steven Wong (Shari), and Lesley Landreth (Keoki), daughters Chanda Mitchell and Carrie Gusman, step-daughters Vanessa Lunsford (Jason) and Jennifer Crews (Justin), and grandchildren Karah Mitchell, Jackson Lunsford, Andrew Crews, and Anna Crews. Glenn also is survived by his nieces and nephews Megan Wong, Scott Lau, Kristin Wong, Jaimie Damon (Eric), Kelly Landreth, and Jake Landreth, as well as numerous uncles, aunties, and cousins whom he loved dearly. Glenn was an extremely talented musician with a beautiful voice. He loved playing his guitar and ukulele, or just about any other musical instrument he could get his hands on. And he never met a stranger. His infectious smile and crazy sense of humor made everyone he met love him. After moving to Alabama, Glenn learned to garden and was so proud of the fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers he grew. He also was a huge supporter of animal rescue and was the best foster dad ever! He and Lesa fostered almost 400 dogs and puppies but Glenn especially loved the scared or sick babies. He would cuddle them, sing to them, and sneak them chicken when he thought Lesa wasn’t looking because, to him, chicken cured everything! Glenn will be taken back home to Hawaiʻi so he can rest in the place he loved the most. Services will be announced at a later date.
