Mrs. Janet Carlisle- Carberry Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Services for Janet Marie Carlisle Carberry will be held Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Springhill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 600 Pierce Rd, Mobile, AL with her brother Deacon Roger Carlisle officiating. Burial and Services will be graveside. Ms. Carberry, 57, of Mobile passed away Friday, May 22, 2020 at the Mobile Infirmary, Mobile, AL. Janet was born December 12, 1962. She graduated from Faith Academy in 1980. She worked at the Mobile Human Society then found a career with US Customs in Mobile. After marrying her husband, Brian, she briefly moved to San Antonio, TX continuing to work for Customs. In 2005 they moved back to Mobile where she resided until her death. Janet had a quick wit, a sharp sense of humor, kind eyes, and a warm smile. She liked everyone she met but always liked animals a little more. She was a founding member of the Florida-Alabama Toy Breeds Dog Club and was President of the Mobile Kennel Club for 5 years. She was a Canine Good Citizenship evaluator for the American Kennel Club (AKC) and was an AKC Temperament Test judge. She had many hobbies from training and showing dogs to sewing and embroidery. Survivors include her husband, Brian Carberry; brother Roger Carlisle (Pam Godwin) and sister Nelda Carlisle Gutherie (Joseph); Step-daughters Genese Carberry-Wolfenden (Jason Wolfenden), Kellianne Carberry-McGuire (Joshua McGuire); grandchildren William Wolfenden, Olivia Wolfenden, Declan McGuire, and Gavin McGuire; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Leroy Carlisle and Peggy Bonner, and her sister Elizabeth Long. In lieu of flowers or cards the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital
