Mr. Lee Franklin Hixon

October 27, 1954 - May 9, 2022

Lee Franklin Hixon, sixty-seven, passed away peacefully at his home in Mobile, Alabama, on Monday, May 9th, 2022, after battling an illness for several months. Lee was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on October 27, 1954 to Dorothy Jean (Register) and William Frank Hixon, both of whom are deceased. Lee came to faith later in life; then, with his wife and family, spent more than twelve years serving as a missionary in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. He has served as the Pastor of First Christian Church for the last nine years where he loved to share the good news of Jesus from the pulpit, during Wednesday night Bible studies and especially at the Bread of Life Cafe every Monday. Lee leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa, and their three children: Tiffany Porterpan (Matt), Michelle Turner (Matt), and Paul Hixon (Rachel). Lee was “Pop-Pop” to his grandchildren: Emma, Abigail and Nathaniel Porterpan; Camryn, Caylyn, Addie, Leah and Isaac Turner; and Timothy, Lydia, Anna, John and Philip Hixon. Lee also leaves a son, Lee, Jr., and a granddaughter Cameron; as well as a daughter, Lauren Adams (Britton), grandson Britton Adams and granddaughter Averee Adams. Finally, he leaves a wonderful community of faith at First Christian Church and in Mobile, with many friends and brothers and sisters in Christ from around the world.
