Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Mayo

Elizabeth “Beth” Anne Mayo, 54, of Irvington, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly at her home on January 19, 2025, from a sudden heart attack. Born on June 30, 1970, in Opelika, Alabama, Beth spent her early years in Bonifay, Florida, before moving to Irvington, Alabama, as a teenager. She has also lived in Colorado and Mississippi, and finished her life in her childhood home in Irvington, Alabama. She worked for Walmart for over 21 years. Beth was a devoted wife to her steadfast partner, James Mayo, and a proud, loving mother to her six children. Beth’s life was marked by her generosity, creativity, and love of nature. She found joy in the outdoors, rock hunting, shooting, traveling, and spending time with her family and pets. She expressed herself through art, crafting, and fostering meaningful connections with everyone she met. Her faith in Christ and devotion to family were unwavering, and her kindness left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her. She was a self-sacrificing protector. She is survived by her parents, Glenn and Jeanette Wimpee of Jackson’s Gap, AL; her husband James Mayo, Jr of Irvington, AL; her parents-in-law, Debbie and Larry Leonard of Mobile, AL; her siblings, Julianna (Wayne) Comans of Carthage, MS, Susanna (Levi) Chase of Hummelstown, PA, and Dr. Holly Gunn of Mountain Brook, AL; siblings-in-law, Jana (Bobby) Murphy and Jamie (Sunny) McCoy; her six children: Katherine Law of MA, Joshua (Courtney) Fleshman of Crestview, FL, Katherine Fleshman of Daphne, AL, Jesse Fleshman of North Springfield, VT, Katlin Fleshman of Loxley, AL, and Kristin Mayo of Irvington, AL; her 4 grandchildren, Dante Law, Fiona Law, Autumn Fleshman, and Eleanora Fleshman; her nieces and nephews: Tyler (Kaylee), Cody, and Dayton Comans; Abigail, William, Lauren, and Gabriel Chase; Lucy, Madeline, Nora, and Olivia Gunn; Stormie (Luke) Madison; as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will deeply mourn her loss. A service to celebrate Beth’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5979 Theodore Dawes Road, Theodore, Alabama 36582. Beth will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her boundless love, creative soul, and deep connection to the world around her will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
