Lucrica Ann Foster, 74, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, just days after celebrating her birthday. Born on April 9, 1952, Lucrica lived a life marked by passion, dedication, and a deep connection to her family, friends and community. Lucrica attended the University of Montevallo, where she earned her degree in 1974. During her time there, she was a founding member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Gamma Upsilon chapter, an experience that fostered lifelong friendships and reflected her strong sense of leadership and sisterhood. She began her professional journey in education, inspiring students through her work as a teacher in several schools across Alabama. Her commitment to public service later led her to the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, where she built a respected career grounded in integrity and professionalism. Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Lucrica founded Responsible Vendor Services in Prattville, Alabama. Through her leadership, the business became known for its high standards, reliability and the genuine care she showed her clients. She took great pride in mentoring others and creating opportunities for those around her. A proud and active member of the Order of Osiris in Mobile, Lucrica fully embraced the pageantry, tradition and fellowship of the Mardi Gras community. Her vibrant personality and love of celebration were recognized where she was crowned Queen of the Order in 2006, a role she cherished deeply. She formed lifelong friendships through her involvement and brought joy and energy to every event she touched. Outside of her professional and civic life, Lucrica found happiness in simple treasures spending time with loved ones, sharing stories and laughter, traveling and enjoying the companion of her beloved dog, Ellie. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed, valued and loved and her warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Lucrica was known for her kind and generous heart, her unwavering support of those she loved and her steadfast loyalty as a partner and friend. She approached life with humor, resilience and grace, offering encouragement and light even in difficult times. She is survived by her devoted partner, Linda Duke; her niece, Sadie Kelosky and Sadie's husband Ryan; her cherished dog, Ellie and her longtime best friend, Mariellen Clayton. She also leaves behind extended family, dear friends and a wide community of people whose lives she touched in meaningful ways. A memorial service will be announced at a later date, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and the many memories she leaves behind. Lucrica Ann Foster will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privledge of knowing and loving her. Her legacy of kindness, strength and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
